3 Scope of processing applicant data
In the context of application procedures, we process personal data that applicants provide to us with their documents. Typically, these are the personal details resulting from the job posting, postal and contact addresses, and the application documents such as cover letters, resumes, and certificates. In addition, applicants may voluntarily provide us with additional information.

If, in the course of the application process, we request special categories of personal data pursuant to Art. 9 para. 1 GDPR from applicants that are relevant to the advertised position, their processing takes place additionally according to Art. 9 para. 2 lit. b GDPR (e.g., health data if required for the professional activity).

By submitting the application to us, applicants agree to the processing of their data for the purposes of the application procedure in accordance with the type and scope set out in this data privacy statement.

The processing can also be done electronically. This is especially the case if an applicant sends the corresponding application documents electronically via email. In this case, please ensure that the transmission of emails is secured by encrypting the message.

4 Legal basis for processing personal data
The legal basis for processing applicants’ data is Art. 88 para. 1 GDPR in conjunction with § 26 para. 1 and 8 BDSG (Federal Data Protection Act).

If an applicant submits documents containing "special categories of personal data" within the meaning of Art. 9 para. 1 GDPR (e.g., ethnic origin recognizable from the application photo, health data implied by wearing glasses in the photo, etc.), the legal basis for data processing is the applicant’s consent according to Art. 9 para. 2 lit. a GDPR.

If, during the application procedure, special categories of personal data pursuant to Art. 9 para. 1 GDPR are requested from applicants, their processing takes place additionally according to Art. 9 para. 2 lit. b GDPR (e.g., health data required for the professional activity). In the application process, a certificate of good conduct, a general medical certificate, if applicable an eyesight test, and all health-relevant data required for holding a driving license are requested.

5 Purpose of data processing
Data processing is carried out for the purpose of deciding on the establishment of an employment relationship.

6 Duration of storage
Data will be deleted no later than 6 months after the conclusion of the application process. During this period, we can answer any follow-up questions regarding the application and fulfill our documentation obligations under the Equal Treatment Act.

Storage of data beyond this period will only take place with the applicant’s consent for the purpose of considering their application documents at a later date.

7 Objection and deletion options
Applicants have the right to object to the processing of their personal data at any time. In that case, the data will be deleted immediately.
You can revoke your consent at any time with future effect.

8 Rights of data subjects
You have the right to information according to Art. 15 GDPR, the right to correction according to Art. 16 GDPR, the right to deletion according to Art. 17 GDPR, the right to restriction of processing according to Art. 18 GDPR, and the right to data portability according to Art. 20 GDPR. Restrictions apply to the right to information and deletion pursuant to §§ 34 and 35 BDSG.

In addition, there is a right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR in conjunction with §19 BDSG).
